What are you excited about?

When it comes to our health, there is a lot of information floating around about what we’re supposed to do to get/do/be better.

Some of this information is truly helpful.

But it’s a lot.

If you’re not sure where to start and it’s not quite the moment for you to begin work with a practitioner, one place you could start is by identifying what motivates you.

What are you excited about?

Is there a new style of cooking you’re looking forward to incorporating?

Have you always wanted to try herbs?

Are you pumped to get stronger or more flexible?

Have you been thinking about shifting your sleep schedule because you’ve heard about all of the benefits of more sleep, but you haven’t done it yet?

If you know you want to make moves toward a healthier life but you are unsure what to do or you are having analysis paralysis, I encourage you to begin with something that lights you up. A lasting change in health is connected to a long-term, sustainable lifestyle shift - not a 30-day challenge. There are so many ways to enjoy the journey.

This doesn’t mean that we forget about all of those other shifts we might be dreading (for many clients, there is a sense of dread around reducing or eliminating sugar or getting off of coffee). These sometimes-tough changes are still so important.

I’m suggesting that perhaps you don’t start there or you pair something exciting with something more difficult.

We feel good when we show ourselves that we can accomplish or get closer to one of our goals. Those accomplishments, even tiny ones, can create a snowball effect of positive change if we allow them to.

As we move toward fall, this can be a good time to consider what kinds of endeavors we’re going to get involved with in the cool weather.

The season changes and so do we.

Chinese medicine teaches us that fall is a time to let go, reflect on grief, take good care of our lungs, and support our digestion. It is a time of rest, a time for a turn inward.

What are you looking forward to in this time? What are you excited about doing for yourself and your health?

You are welcome to send me a message if you are looking for Chinese medicine resources or if you want to bounce an idea for your fall goals. 🍁

Warmly,

Artemisia
